Training in an outdoors environment has proven physical and mental health benefits:
IMPROVED CARDIOVASCULAR PERFORMANCE - Studies have shown that physical activity outdoors can lower a persons blood pressure and heart rate significantly. This means that exercise feels less strenuous compared to the same activity indoors.
IMPROVED SLEEP - Fresh air can help with alleviate insomnia and improve the quality of your sleep.
INCREASED VITAMIN D - Training outdoors floods your body with vitamin sunshine! Vitamin D is essential in maintaining a good immune system and helps keep the blues away. Sunlight also enhances energy generation in the muscles and oxidation of the tissues.
NATURAL MOOD BOOSTER - An outdoor workout can make you feel happier, more energised and less fatigued. This is compared to doing a similar workout in a gym or indoor environment.
OFFSET FATIGUE - When we breathe in negative ions released from saltwater, these go directly to the brain. This counteracts the positive ions that come from computers and other electronic technology, which causes fatigue.

Maite Gonzalez is a sports and personal fitness trainer with 12 years industry experience. She has dedicated her career to helping others reach their full fitness potential, by tajing time to understand her clients individual needs and motivation - and coaching them both physically and mentally.
Her area of speciality is helping clients improve their overall fitness, through weight loss, increased strength, stamina and flexibility.
This is achieved with short but very intense interval training, using body weight, props such as stretch bands and weights. She has now adapted and curated a fitness program, specifically designed for exercise on paddle boards.
Maite's positive attitude, glowing smile and infectiously happy personality all add to this unique and enjoyable experience.
SUP FIIT PADDLE AND BREAKFAST
Join us every Wednesday until the end of October 2020, for our hugely popular SUP FIIT Paddle and Breakfast! The morning program consists of:
- 7.30 am meet up on the beach in front of Little Italy (On the Pine Walk)
- 10 minute beach stretching
- 20 minute warm up paddle
- 30 minute FIIT class on the waters of Pollenca Bay
- 20 minute warm down paddle back to shore
- Mouth watering breakfast at Store Formentor (includes water, coffee, fruit and avocado toast
