Sven “Nevz” Schmid is a self-taught filmmaker, now based in Switzerland, whose passion for capturing moments began in the Philippines when he picked up his first camera in 2012. From that moment on, there was no turning back. Over the past decade, Nevz has worked with internationally recognised brands including Converse, H&M and Mitsubishi, while also covering some of the Philippines’ largest music festivals, featuring artists such as LANY, Joji and Yellow Claw, among many others.

A project as unique as the M2M Challenge deserves to be captured in all its intensity. Through the lens of a professional filmmaker, the story extends beyond athletic achievement to reveal the beauty of nature, the depth of the sea, and the fleeting moments that often go unnoticed. It is in these details that emotion lives — the connection between humankind and the ocean, and the quiet stories that unfold between waves, wind, and silence.

The name MOAI is inspired by the monumental human statues created by the inhabitants of Rapa Nui, also known as Easter Island. Discovered and settled by Polynesian adventurers who crossed vast stretches of the Pacific Ocean by canoe, the island holds a deep legacy of exploration and connection to the sea. It is believed the moai statues were created to honour ancestors — guardians of knowledge, navigation, and ocean journeys.

I am genuinely delighted that MOAI are involved in the M2M Challenge. Safety is paramount, and having worked with the brand for the past four years, I had complete confidence in the quality and reliability of their boards under demanding conditions. For long-distance crossings, stability and trust are essential. The 12’4 board was chosen for its proven balance of control, endurance, and speed — offering exactly what is needed when the sea, not the schedule, sets the terms.

Fatstick was founded in 2012 by Reuben May, whose lifelong connection to the sea began through surfing. After suffering back problems that prevented him from prone surfing, Reuben searched for a way back into the water — a journey that led to the creation of Fatstick. What began as a personal solution has since grown into a respected brand, built over the past fourteen years alongside a loyal community united by a shared love of the ocean. Fatstick is also recognised for its strong commitment to sustainability, placing environmental responsibility at the heart of its ethos.

I’ve been fortunate to work closely with the Fatstick team since 2019, representing the brand in Mallorca. Their reputation for quality and reliability made them a natural choice for the M2M Challenge. We will be using their full carbon paddles, chosen not just for performance, but for endurance — lightweight, efficient, and designed to reduce fatigue over long distances. When every movement counts, trust in your equipment matters.

Step into a legacy of Mediterranean charm at Hotel Sis Pins (Six Pines), a cornerstone of Puerto Pollensa since 1952. Set on the iconic, pedestrianised Pine Walk, the hotel blends historic prestige with a genuine commitment to its local environment. Proudly independent and family-run, Sis Pins supports sustainable tourism through walking, cycling, and the encouragement of eco-conscious travel.

The hotel maintains a strictly smoke-free environment and adheres to Balearic coastal preservation standards, helping to protect the unique character of the Pine Walk for future generations.

Over the past three years, the relationship between Mallorca SUPCO and the hotel has grown naturally. When the Challenge was presented to Sarah and Geoff, their support was immediate and wholehearted — a reflection of shared values rooted in community, respect for the sea, and giving something back to the place they call home.

Fairline Mallorca North operates in one of the most privileged environments in the Mediterranean, and with that privilege comes responsibility. While luxury yachting represents craftsmanship, performance and freedom at sea, Fairline recognises the importance of supporting the local maritime community that lives with the coastline every day.

Having shared Blue Space, social space and personal stories over the last few years, with Russel and his awesome team, it felt very personal to be able to reach out to them about our Challenge. Their support of Mallorca SUPCO is not about visibility or promotion, but about giving back to the sea and the people who interact with it quietly and respectfully. By backing a sport rooted in balance, stillness and human connection, Fairline Mallorca North are  demonstrating a commitment to preserving the culture, values and future of Mallorca’s coastal life — beyond the marina and beyond the season.

It’s a gesture that reflects long-term thinking, local respect, and an understanding that true luxury includes stewardship, community, and care
